Job Summary
Teach Algebra I at Cypress Woods High School, develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum, accommodate individual student differences, assess student achievement, and oversee approved extracurricular activities. Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs, maintain professional communication with parents and colleagues, participate in staff development, and ensure compliance with district/state regulations. Responsibilities include attendance, classroom management, selecting instructional materials, maintaining records, and creating a conducive learning environment. Additional duties include supervising instructional aides if assigned and supporting mission of the school district. Eligibility requires a Bachelor’s degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements; AED/CPR certification is noted for Physical Education roles. The position is a probationary/term contract (187 days) with Pay Grade T60 as approved by the Board of Trustees.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
