Job Summary
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill potential for growth. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum, adapt instruction for diverse learners (IEPs), assess student achievement, and plan instructional activities. Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula, plan goals with staff, and supervise instructional aides/volunteers. Maintain classroom environment conducive to learning, manage student behavior per code of conduct, and communicate professionally with parents and the community. Participate in professional development, comply with applicable regulations, and support extracurricular activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university preferred
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training preferred
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Special knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Experience: one year student teaching or approved internship preferred
- Other substitutions of qualifications may be considered under district plan
