Job Summary
Provide specialized instruction in culinary arts, food service, independent living skills, and career readiness for students with disabilities. Prepare students for greater independence, employment opportunities, and successful adult living by developing functional life skills, workplace behaviors, food preparation competencies, and community participation skills in a structured and supportive environment. Develop and implement engaging, hands-on lessons aligned with student IEP goals and transition plans; supervise culinary/kitchen activities; teach proper food handling, sanitation, and safety; collaborate with families, related services and community partners; participate in ARD/transition planning meetings; maintain records and comply with applicable regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas teaching certificate appropriate for assignment
- Career and Technical Education (CTE) certification
- Special Education certification preferred
- Experience in culinary arts, food service, hospitality, transition services, or vocational training preferred
