Job Summary
Implement classroom curriculum using Head Start, Early Head Start, and Creative Curriculum® to support the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children. Conduct small group, large group, and individualized activities while assessing students, documenting results, and collaborating with the teaching team to establish classroom goals. Actively supervise children in indoor and outdoor environments, ensure safety rules are followed during field trips and playgrounds, and prepare supplies and learning environments. Obtain required Illinois Gateways to Opportunity credentials within 12 months and maintain knowledge of therapeutic educational approaches. Full-time role at Scott Early Learning Center with salary between $42k-$46k.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Child Development or a closely related field with 18+ hours of ECE credits
- Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) and enrollment in a college program in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or closely related field with at least 30 credit hours completed, including 12 hours in Early Childhood Education
- Ability to obtain an Illinois Gateways to Opportunity Early Childhood Education Level 4 credential within 12 months of employment
- Ability to obtain an Illinois Gateways to Opportunity Infant Toddler Level 4 credential within 12 months of employment
- A minimum of 1 year experience working with children and/or families
