Job Summary
Manage commercial property claims from initial investigation through resolution by gathering, verifying, and reviewing documentation to assess coverage, conditions, and limits. Analyze damage estimates, appraisals, and expert reports to determine probable outcomes, revise reserves promptly, and support accurate reserving practices. Provide proactive updates to customers throughout the claims lifecycle, resolve concerns, and escalate issues as required while identifying fraud indicators and risk issues. Collaborate with claim management vendors, appraisers, and experts to maintain service standards and support timely claim resolution. Meet departmental productivity, quality, and service expectations, including file inventory and cycle time objectives. Bilingualism in English and French is required; a valid AMF claims adjuster license is mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- College or university degree and/or equivalent related work experience
- 3+ years of experience handling Commercial Property claims, including exposure to Crime and Business Interruption coverages
- Bilingualism in English and French
- valid AMF claims adjuster license
- Strong knowledge of commercial property insurance policies, coverage interpretation, claims investigation, reserving, and settlement practices
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and with empathy during complex claim situations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively with colleagues, vendors, experts, and internal business partners
