Job Summary

Texas Children's is seeking an MD (or PhD) clinical laboratory leader to direct its Laboratory Medicine Division. The role directs MD and PhD faculty, technical and administrative staff, with subspecialty expertise in Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Hematopathology, Immunology/Serology, Medical and Molecular Microbiology, Pathology Informatics, Point of Care Testing, and Virology. The appointee will contribute to scholarly activities, guide clinical pathology resident and fellow education, and collaborate with the Texas Children's Research Institute across discovery science and clinical studies. Campuses include suburban West, The Woodlands, and Austin, offering opportunities for clinical collaboration and translational research.

Required Qualifications

  • Board certification in Clinical Pathology (CP) by the American Board of Pathology or alternative clinical laboratory-based board certification for PhD faculty
  • MD candidates should be eligible for an active, unrestricted Texas medical license (MD preferred)
  • PhD candidates will also be considered
