Job Summary
Translate messages, live talks, recordings, and documents between Chinese and English, ensuring proper context, meaning, and tone while applying professional jargon. Collaborate with colleagues to compile vocabularies and definitions into glossaries, check and revise translations to ensure consistency, and analyze meeting participants to determine optimal interpreting methods. Find conflicting phrases and determine clear replacements, consult terminology resources to update vocabulary meanings, and record changes to facilitate future reference. Adhere to ethical rules protecting sensitive confidential information. Requires a Master's degree in English-Chinese translation, fluency in English and Mandarin, familiarity with machine-assisted translation, and 3 to 5 years of interpreting experience.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree and relevant qualification in English-Chinese translation/interpretation
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
- Familiar with machine-assisted translation
- 3 to 5 years of in-house or freelance interpreting experience
