Job Summary
Tax Senior or Tax Manager to join Blue & Co., LLC in Detroit (Bingham Farms). Manage tax and accounting engagements for small businesses, closely held entities, and individual clients; prepare and review business tax returns (S corporations, partnerships, corporations) and individual income tax returns; perform year-end cleanup of client books; assist with bookkeeping and client accounting services; review staff work and mentor junior team members; identify tax planning opportunities and respond to client questions. CPA license or active pursuit required for Senior level; 4+ years public accounting for Senior, 6+ years for Manager. Proficiency with QuickBooks and various industries served (construction, manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, agribusiness, financial services, not-for-profit). Required Qualifications
- CPA license required, or actively pursuing certification for Tax Senior candidates
- 4+ years of public accounting experience for Tax Senior candidates
- 6+ years of public accounting experience for Manager candidates
- Strong background in small business accounting and tax compliance
- Experience with individual income tax planning and compliance
- Familiarity with QuickBooks and experience working with client bookkeeping files
- Background in client accounting services and year-end cleanup of client books
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and a client service mindset
