Tax Senior Manager, Real Estate/REIT

Job Summary

Ensure clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens by preparing required filings and collecting necessary data. Lead complex engagements with a team of tax professionals, managing billing, collections, and budgets for projects. Deliver high-quality federal, state, and international tax compliance and consulting services to Venture Capital, Private Equity, Hedge Fund, and Real Estate clients. Build and maintain client relationships, acting as the primary contact for presenting issues and resolutions. Supervise teams of Managers, Tax Seniors, and Associates to execute tax strategies and ensure adherence to Firm policies and the Tax Quality Manual.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • Eight (8) or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA)
  • Ability to effectively delegate work as needed
  • Capable of developing and managing a team of tax professionals

Desired Qualifications

  • Major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics
  • Master's in Accountancy or Taxation
  • Financial Services industry experience supporting Alternative Investment funds including: Venture Capital, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Hedge Funds
  • Proficiency in the taxation of partnerships
  • Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role
  • CFP or Masters in Tax
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with tax research databases
  • Proficient in tax compliance process software
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills as well as decision-making skills
  • Capacity to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to compose written tax advice
  • Capable of effectively developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Executive presence and ability to act as primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues and resolutions to clients
