Job Summary
Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools, including video, phone, chat, and email. Prepare complete and accurate tax returns while generating business growth, increasing client retention, and offering additional products and services. Provide clients with IRS support and audit representation as a Circular 230 associate, and mentor and support teammates. You must complete the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment, continuing education requirements, and all applicable state regulations. This seasonal role offers advanced tax training and works within a fast-paced environment to help people make confident decisions about their finances.
Required Qualifications
- Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools – video, phone, chat, email
- Prepare complete and accurate tax returns
- Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services
- Provide clients with IRS support
- All certification levels can provide tax notice services
- Circular 230 associates can provide audit representation
- Mentor and support teammates
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
- Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
- Experience completing individual returns
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat
- Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
- Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
- High school diploma / equivalent or higher
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
- Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
- Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
- Experience with tax planning and audit support
- Sales and/or marketing experience
