Job Summary
Conduct face-to-face and virtual tax interviews to prepare complete and accurate returns for clients with diverse needs. Generate business growth by offering additional products and services while providing IRS support and audit representation where certified. Mentor teammates and ensure all clients receive proper tax notice services. Complete the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment and satisfy continuing education requirements to maintain compliance with IRS and state regulations. This seasonal role supports the franchise team's mission to help people make confident decisions about their financial lives.
Required Qualifications
- Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools – video, phone, chat, email
- Prepare complete and accurate tax returns
- Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services
- Provide clients with IRS support
- All certification levels can provide tax notice services
- Circular 230 associates can provide audit representation
- Mentor and support teammates
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
- Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
- Experience completing individual returns
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat
- Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
- Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
- High school diploma / equivalent or higher
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
- Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
- Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
- Experience with tax planning and audit support
- Sales and/or marketing experience
