Job Summary
Conduct face-to-face and virtual tax interviews, prepare complete and accurate returns, and generate business growth through client retention and additional product offerings. Provide clients with IRS support and audit representation where certified, while mentoring and supporting teammates. Complete the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment and all continuing education requirements to maintain IRS and state compliance. This seasonal role requires experience in accounting, finance, or tax, including completing individual returns and working effectively in a fast-paced environment using video, phone, and chat tools.
Required Qualifications
- Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools – video, phone, chat, email
- Prepare complete and accurate tax returns
- Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services
- Provide clients with IRS support
- All certification levels can provide tax notice services
- Circular 230 associates can provide audit representation
- Mentor and support teammates
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
- Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
- Experience completing individual returns
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat
- Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
- Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
- High school diploma / equivalent or higher
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
- Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
- Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
- Experience with tax planning and audit support
- Sales and/or marketing experience
