Job Summary
Design and implement the end-to-end framework for tax accounting and financial reporting, including ETR calculation, tax provision methodology, cash tax forecasting, and Pillar 2 / GloBE entity-level calculations. Act as the primary bridge between the Tax team's technical positions and the wider finance organisation, ensuring methodology is clearly documented and consistently applied. Collaborate with Tax Technology and SAP specialists to build automated data pipelines using SAC, Alteryx, and AI-supported workflows. Support the controlling team in reviewing tax notes in financial statements, uncertain tax position memos, and tax provisions, ensuring outputs are accurate, auditable, and delivered on time. Establish and maintain model governance with version control, change logs, audit trails, and a 4-eyes review process that meets pre-IPO and statutory audit standards. This is a build role focused on creating scalable tax accounting and financial reporting infrastructure for SumUp.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience producing tax provisions under IAS 12 across multiple entities in a multinational environment
- Strong accounting background with ability to read, challenge, and reconcile financial statements at entity level
- Experience with Pillar 2 / GloBE entity-level calculations
- Experience building and governing financial models in planning tools (e.g., SAC or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills including Power Query and Data Tables
- ERP experience, preferably SAP
- Ability to translate complex calculation outputs for non-technical audiences (CFO, FP&A, auditors)
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Experience with tax notes in financial statements, uncertain tax position memos, and tax provisions
- Data pipelines and automation experience to replace manual processes
- Experience interacting with Tax Technology and SAP specialists
