Tax Planning Specialist

Job Summary
Tax Planning Specialist collaborates with Financial Advisors to develop financial strategies and reduce clients' tax liability. Responsibilities include analyzing tax liability, preparing tax projections and tax returns, delivering presentations to clients and prospects, developing and maintaining a client base, marketing tax plans, attending CE sessions, coordinating with a team of professionals to service clients, ensuring compliance with industry rules and regulations, and representing clients before the IRS and state revenue departments. Requires strong communication, ability to manage competing priorities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; Enrolled Agent or CPA preferred. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-year relevant experience preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals
- Enrolled Agent or Certified Public Accountant license preferred
- Must possess or be able to obtain Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
Desired Qualifications
- Enrolled Agent or Certified Public Accountant preferred
- PTIN must be obtained
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with tax software such as CCH Axcess preferred
