Job Summary
Lead tax and consulting engagements for high net-worth individuals, families, and family offices by reviewing complex individual, trust, estate, and gift tax returns, providing written and verbal feedback to preparers, and directing communication with government agencies on matters of highest complexity. Advise clients on tax implications, recommend alternative courses of action, and identify different methods of compliance while conducting advanced tax research to develop sound recommendations. Supervise associates, senior associates, and managers by reviewing their work, providing performance feedback, and managing their workload and career development. Act as the primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues, build new relationships with professionals and external sources, and manage key performance indicators.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Ten (10) or more years prior experience in accounting, finance, or law
- Expertise in the private client service area
- Prior supervisory experience
- Certified Public Accountant credential, Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) credential, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or the equivalent of one of these designations
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
Desired Qualifications
- Major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics
- Master's degree in Accountancy or Taxation
- Experience working in public accounting
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role
- Experience with tax compliance process software (GoSystems, BNA Tax Planner, GoFileRoom, SurePrep)
- Experience with tax research tools (BNA Portfolio, CCH IntelliConnect, Checkpoint and Lexis Nexis)
