Tax Managing Director, Alternative Investments

Job Summary
Ensure client and team compliance with all applicable authorities and Firm policies while minimizing tax burdens through rigorous review and documentation. Prepare federal, state, and international tax returns using compliance software, collect necessary data, and communicate missing items to prevent filing errors. Lead complex engagements by managing teams of Senior Managers, Managers, Tax Seniors, and Associates, overseeing billing, collections, and project budgets. Deliver high-quality tax consulting by developing and implementing efficient strategies, building client relationships, and acting as the primary contact for presenting resolutions. Manage Open items lists and maintain comprehensive client tax files.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics
- Ten (10) or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience
- CPA or Licensed Attorney, or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Accounting or Taxation
- Financial Services industry experience supporting Alternative Investment funds including: Venture Capital, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Hedge Funds
- Proficiency in the taxation of partnerships
- CFP or Masters in Tax
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with tax research databases
- Proficient in tax compliance process software
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively delegate work as needed
- Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills as well as decision-making skills
- Capacity to work well in a team environment
- Capable of developing and managing a team of tax professionals
- Ability to compose written tax advice
- Capable of effectively developing and maintaining client relationships
- Executive presence and ability to act as primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues and resolutions to clients
