Job Summary
Serve as the primary U.S. tax subject matter expert for Caseware's tax product initiatives, providing guidance on federal and state regulations, compliance requirements, and preparation workflows. Collaborate with Product Managers to define requirements, review designs and calculations for technical accuracy, and translate legislative changes into software updates. Monitor IRS guidance and industry trends to advise teams on emerging developments impacting customer functionality. Validate tax-related functionality, support quality assurance, and assist in identifying automation opportunities within the tax preparation process. Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, QA, Customer Success, and Support teams to provide expertise during reviews, feature design sessions, and release planning. This role supports the development of product documentation, training materials, and customer-facing guidance as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in U.S. tax compliance, tax preparation, tax consulting, or tax advisory services
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal income tax rules and tax compliance processes
- Experience preparing or reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, and/or S-corporation tax returns
- Strong understanding of tax workflows within public accounting firms or corporate tax departments
- Ability to interpret tax legislation and translate technical requirements into practical business solutions
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Experience with tax software solutions and tax technology platforms
- Experience reviewing or developing tax methodologies, guidance, or technical content
- Background in public accounting, tax consulting, or professional services
- Experience with tax technology, automation, or digital transformation initiatives
- Familiarity with SaaS products and software development environments
Desired Qualifications
- CPA strongly preferred
