Tax Manager

Job Summary
Oversee all direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, and strategy for Kenyan operations, including the preparation and filing of Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, and PAYE returns with the Kenya Revenue Authority. Provide in-depth tax guidance on local business operations, new product launches, and intercompany transactions, while acting as the primary liaison for tax audits, investigations, and appeals. Coordinate regional tax activities across East Africa, managing local filings, developing tax strategies for the region, and reviewing Transfer Pricing documentation. Monitor regional tax legislation, implement process improvements, and mentor junior finance team members on technical tax matters.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) or an equivalent professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA)
- Minimum of 5 years' progressive experience in corporate tax
- significant exposure to Kenyan and East African tax matters
- ideally gained within a Big Four accounting firm or a multinational organization
- Deep, current knowledge of Kenyan and East African Income Tax Acts
