Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager

Job Summary

Prepare and own U.S. international tax compliance workpapers for controlled foreign corporations and partnerships, covering GILTI/NCTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F, and foreign tax credits. Independently review all externally prepared federal and state returns prior to submission and maintain the firm's tax compliance calendar to coordinate timely completion with internal teams and outside advisors. Conduct primary research on federal, state, local, and international tax issues to prepare technical memos and respond to information document requests from taxing authorities. This hands-on role involves working alongside the Tax Director to build analysis that informs the firm's tax positions, support proposed transactions, and implement process improvements using advanced Excel tools. You will work cross-functionally with Accounting, Legal, and Operations on tax matters and regulatory reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • 6–8+ years of tax experience
  • Genuine hands-on technical depth in U.S. and international tax
  • Direct experience preparing and reviewing GILTI/NCTI, Subpart F, and foreign tax credit workpapers
  • Experience preparing and independently reviewing federal and state tax returns and workpapers
  • Working knowledge of indirect tax, VAT, Use Tax, or GST in a compliance setting
  • CPA licensed or within one exam section of completion
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, XLOOKUP, PivotTables, Power Query, SUMIF/SUMIFS
  • Comfort manipulating large financial datasets
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational discipline
  • Ability to manage multiple high-stakes deadlines without dropping the ball
  • Impeccable ethics, integrity, and proven ability to handle confidential and market-sensitive information
  • On-site 5 days a week for the first 3 to 6 months
  • 4 days in the office and 1 day remote thereafter

Desired Qualifications

  • Public accounting background at the Manager or experienced Senior level (Big 4, national firm, or strong regional with FS practice)
  • Financial services, partnership, or trading firm context
  • Prior experience in a financial services tax environment, proprietary trading firm, hedge fund, or investment partnership
  • Transfer pricing experience, including intercompany agreements and benchmarking documentation
  • Exposure to Pillar Two / OECD Global Minimum Tax framework and its interaction with U.S. GILTI rules
  • Experience with SALT filings and withholding requirements for investment partnerships
  • Familiarity with ASC 740 income tax accounting and quarterly tax provision work
  • Experience with tax research databases, Thomson Reuters Checkpoint, Bloomberg Tax, or CCH AnswerConnect
  • Working knowledge of AI tools applied to tax research, drafting, and workflow automation
  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
  • Active license (CPA)
