Job Summary
Review difficult personal and business returns for completeness, accuracy, and compliance while engaging in complex tax planning to reduce liabilities. Monitor tax deadlines, communicate with staff on issues, and prepare written conclusions subject to review. Mentor and develop other tax professionals, manage workloads, and delegate tasks. Serve as a front-line client advisor and technical liaison with partners, initiating new work and providing clear memos on tax options. Respond to routine IRS notices and participate in audits as needed. Complete research projects and assist audit staff with non-complex questions. Work directly with Tax Partners and Principals on compliance and consulting projects.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years' experience working in a public accounting firm
- Current tax experience with all different entity types
- Experience servicing complex 1040s/high net worth individuals and small businesses (mix of S Corps and Partnership returns)
- A minimum of an additional 2 years supervisory experience
- A proven record of simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients
- CPA/EA required
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Accounting
- Minimum of 6+ years' experience in Tax working within public accounting
Desired Qualifications
- Masters in Tax a plus
- Experience servicing complex 1040s/high net worth individuals and small businesses (mix of S Corps and Partnership returns) would be ideal
- Managers who possess more Supervisory experience and normally have a minimum of 6+ years' experience in Tax working within public accounting would be considered for the mid-upper end of the range
