Job Summary
Prepare and review complex federal and state income tax returns, including multi-entity C-Corporation and S-Corporation filings for banking and financial institutions, alongside individual, trust, partnership, and employee benefit plan returns. Act as a direct point of contact for clients to answer questions, resolve tax issues, and provide representation before taxing authorities when necessary. Lead tax processes, supervise staff, and provide on-the-job training to ensure technical accuracy and professional growth. Perform extensive research on evolving tax laws and communicate their impact to both the firm and clients. Work closely with shareholders to deliver tax planning, due diligence, and merger and acquisition consultation for community banks. Requires an active CPA license, 7+ years of public accounting taxation experience, and proficiency in tax preparation software.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in accounting
- An active CPA license
- Extensive experience in public accounting taxation (7+ years)
- At least two years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role
- Deep familiarity with multi-entity C corporation and S-corporation returns and taxation
- Experience with individual, trust and partnership returns
- Proficiency in tax preparation and research software
- Exceptional organizational skills to simultaneously manage internal processes and multiple activities across multiple clients while meeting strict deadlines
- Exceptional communication skills with both firm personnel and clients
- Timeliness, accuracy, clarity and follow-through
- Communication with confidence and ease
