Job Summary
As a Tax Manager at Nichols Cauley, you will oversee client relationships, manage tax engagements, and deliver high-quality tax compliance and consulting services. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary contact for clients, developing tax planning strategies, reviewing tax returns, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. You will supervise and mentor staff, manage multiple client engagements, and contribute to business development by identifying opportunities to expand client relationships. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a CPA license, and significant tax experience, particularly in a managerial role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- CPA license required
- Minimum 5 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting
- At least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s in Taxation or Accounting preferred
- Proficiency in tax preparation and research software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, BNA); advanced MS Excel skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong project management, time-management, and multi-tasking abilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor teams in a collaborative environment
