Job Summary
Tax Manager in Downtown Los Angeles (Onsite) leads and builds a new in-house tax preparation department, signing off on individual and business returns, coordinating with attorneys, enrolled agents, and case managers, and ensuring timely filings and compliance. Focus is on establishing scalable processes, quality controls, and best practices, while overseeing deadlines and staying current with federal and state tax regulations. Ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, CPA/EA preferred, and has 5+ years of hands-on tax experience with prior leadership, strong IRS/state tax knowledge, and excellent mentorship capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or Enrolled Agent certification strongly preferred
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on tax preparation experience, including complex filings
- Prior team leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong command of IRS procedures and state tax rules
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor a growing team
