Job Summary

Tax Manager for Insurance focus within KPMG's Business Tax Services. Responsibilities include providing tax compliance and tax consulting services for clients in Financial Services with emphasis on insurance clients, overseeing a portfolio of clients, acting as the point of contact for internal and external clients, building and managing client relationships, and delivering high-quality tax services while managing risk and financial performance (billing, collections, and project budgets). Requires minimum five years of corporate tax experience (including insurance/financial services), Bachelor's degree, and a CPA/EA/JD-LLM or equivalent credential with eligibility to obtain approved credentials. Emphasizes ASC 740, SSAP 101 knowledge and experience with corporate taxation and consolidated returns, within a multi-disciplinary team and a culture focused on development and mentorship.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • Licensed CPA, EA or JD/LLM (or equivalent) per KPMG's approved credential listing; one year allowed post-hire to obtain a credential
  • Minimum five years of recent corporate tax experience in an accounting firm, corporation, and/or law firm; at least three years with insurance, banking, or asset management corporate entities
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 740
  • Working knowledge of SSAP 101
  • Experience with corporate taxation and consolidated returns
