Job Summary
Prepare and review highly complex tax returns for individual, fiduciary, corporate, partnership, and non-profit clients by required deadlines. Analyze individual tax situations, trusts, and estates to maximize tax benefits while working with staff to ensure compliance under firm processes. Collaborate with clients to create wealth transition plans based on cash flow projections, distribution strategies, and estate preservation. Interpret legal documents for estate and business succession planning and perform technical research on IRS regulations and compliance matters. Advise team members and manage client relationships by proactively seeking solutions that add value. Support business development by identifying prospective clients, preparing proposals, and representing the firm at networking events.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- active CPA license
- law degree
- Enrolled Agent (EA) certification
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting tax work
- experience working with individual, fiduciary, gift and estate tax returns
- well-rounded knowledge of tax accounting principles
- knowledge of IRS regulations
- expertise in individual income tax
- expertise in estate tax planning
- experience with flow-through entities
- experience with private foundations
- up-to-date knowledge on the ever-changing tax industry's regulations and policies
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- experience developing business and networking
- authorization to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship
