Job Summary
Run the full direct tax cycle for European markets, including the UK, by leading corporate income tax return preparation with external advisers and applying technical challenge to ensure compliance. Prepare and submit US GAAP reporting, including quarterly current and deferred tax provisions using TaxStream technology. Manage UK-specific governance requirements such as Senior Accounting Officer status, Tax Strategy publication, and Pillar Two obligations. Act as an internal consultant to finance and business stakeholders by translating complex legislation into practical action and advising on technical requirements. Monitor legislative developments across markets, analyze their impact, and proactively communicate relevant changes to stakeholders. Collaborate with local finance teams and top-tier external advisers to drive high-quality processes and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified accountant and/or chartered tax adviser (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Solid experience in tax accounting, tax provisioning, and statutory audit support
- Experience managing external advisers
- Ability to review compliance deliverables with the right level of technical rigour
- Confident communication skills to break down complex tax matters for finance colleagues and non-tax stakeholders
- Interest in tax technology, process improvement, and automation
- Organised, ownership-driven mindset
- Comfort managing multiple markets and deadlines simultaneously
- Fluency in English
- 50% hybrid working model (at least 50% onsite)
- Ability to physically travel to visit customers, patients or business partners and to attend meetings on behalf of BMS as directed
