Job Summary
Tax Manager to lead our tax team in Encino, overseeing the preparation and signing of corporation, partnership, individual and trust tax returns and projections, including multi-state returns. Serve as liaison with staff and Partners, mentor tax professionals, help manage client relationships, support tax planning strategies, and ensure timely filings and payments. Responsibilities include reviewing tax returns, communicating with government agencies, guiding staff, assisting with audit document gathering, meeting deadlines, and attending client meetings. Requires in-depth knowledge of tax concepts across individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, and trusts; proficiency with CCH Axcess/ProSystem; GAAP familiarity; strong communication and organizational skills; and real estate/partnership tax experience. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred. 5+ years leading a tax team and 7+ years related tax experience in public accounting or family office; salary range $125k-$175k.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related business field (3.0 GPA or better)
- Certified Public Accountant preferred
- 5+ years of experience leading a team of tax professionals
- 7+ years of related tax experience at a public accounting firm or family office
- Extensive experience with real estate and partnership tax compliance and consulting preferred
- Strong knowledge of tax concepts and regulations related to individuals, C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts
- Proficiency with tax software and Microsoft applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to mentor staff and manage client relationships
- Experience with state and federal audits and tax planning
