Tax Manager

Job Summary
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax requirements while preparing the annual GAAP tax provision and responding to external audit questions. File federal, state income, sales, use, and property tax returns by collaborating with the General Accounting team and external tax professionals. Analyze domestic and foreign tax rate projections, prepare monthly journal entries, and execute changes to intercompany and transfer price agreements. Conduct tax research, prepare memos, enforce tax policies, and manage IRS and local jurisdiction audits as needed. Implement tax software programs and provide information for shareholder filings. Act as a trusted advisor on significant tax matters within a high-growth environment. Work from the office in Poway on Monday through Thursday, with Fridays remote.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 6+ years of public accounting and/or corporate tax experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of tax law
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, MS in Taxation is a plus
- CPA is preferred
- Experience with Sage and Avalara is desired
- Strong system skills in computerized accounting and advanced spreadsheet skills
- Technical proficiency includes the ability to learn new software and programs
- Travel up to 5% of the time to visit other company locations or participate in acquisition activities
