Job Summary
Advise clients on tax implications of business objectives, evaluate alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance, and act as the primary contact for complex tax issues. Identify methods for complying with tax regulations while managing multiple engagements to deliver quality services. Apply knowledge to understand potential tax issues, recognize and communicate risks regarding policy changes, and make top-level decisions on filing, preparation, and resolution of questions from federal and state agencies. Lead and manage a team of tax professionals, mentoring staff while actively participating in marketing, networking, and business development within areas of expertise. Maintain client relationships and present issues and resolutions with executive presence. This role sits in a New England office or remotely with minimal travel, requiring a CPA license and 5+ years of experience in managing engagements and clients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- CPA license
- 5+ years' experience in a similar role managing engagements, clients and staff
- Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills
- Expert knowledge of a minimum of 1-2 industry areas which the firm offers
- Highly capable of managing, developing and mentoring a team of tax professionals
- Ability to effectively delegate work as needed
- Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills
- Decision-making skills
- Ability to compose written tax advice
- Executive presence
- Exceptional client service, presentation and communication skills
- Strong leadership, business development, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology
- Travel to client sites can range up to 15%
