Job Summary
Review and evaluate AI-generated responses to U.S. tax law hypotheticals, including individual and corporate income tax, pass-through entity taxation, international tax provisions, and tax controversy procedures. Apply a structured legal rubric to assess issue spotting, accuracy of Internal Revenue Code provisions, and proper application of Treasury Regulations and IRS guidance. Identify gaps in AI reasoning around basis calculations, gain recognition, tax credits, transfer pricing, and tax-exempt organization rules. Provide detailed, high-quality annotations and written feedback to refine AI models. Collaborate with researchers and project managers to align evaluation standards and project goals. This role supports Turing's mission to accelerate frontier AI research by applying expert legal judgment to ensure reliable performance on complex tax scenarios.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school
- Bar admission (active/inactive)
- 3+ years of U.S. legal practice in tax law, tax planning, or tax controversy
- Strong reasoning skills across the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, and state/local tax frameworks
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail
