Job Summary

Prepare individual, business, and trust tax returns for clients while gaining hands-on experience in professional client relations within a public accounting setting. Gather information, conduct client follow-up, and utilize firm software to complete tax return preparation. Attend weekly team meetings, panels, and trainings to understand the accounting profession and firm training methodologies. Manage multiple projects with strong time management skills and organizational abilities. This paid internship runs from January 19th through April 15th, 2027, with a minimum of 20 hours per week and flexible scheduling. No experience necessary; the firm provides comprehensive training for candidates pursuing a BS or MS in accounting or taxation.

Required Qualifications

  • Develop an understanding of various software and tools that are used by the firm to prepare client returns
  • Gain a further understanding of the IRS code and preparation of individual, business and trust tax returns for clients
  • Learn the process of completing a tax return from inquiry, gathering information, client follow-up, and completion of the tax return
  • Understand how a firm trains its personnel and how training enhances work requirements
  • Develop a skillset of gathering questions and asking appropriate personnel for assistance
  • Develop skills required to interact with other professionals at varying levels (staff, managers or partners)
  • Develop time management skills and the ability to be responsible for more than one project at a time
  • Develop organizational skills of tracking time when working on a project
  • Weekly team meetings, panels, lunches and trainings to provide insight on the accounting profession
  • No experience necessary we will train the right candidates
