Job Summary
Tax Intern within BDO’s Business Incentives Group (BIG) for Summer 2027 in Nashville. Responsibilities include assisting in the execution of multiple client engagements, collaborating with BIG professionals across services to identify and document government incentives (notably R&D Tax Credit) eligible for clients, establishing effective working relationships with colleagues and clients, contributing to development of technical acumen and BIG’s market prominence, supporting business development research and identification of opportunities, and upholding BIG culture. Requires strong written and verbal communication, analytical and research abilities, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or within a team to meet deadlines. Educational focus should be in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Communications, or Law; leadership experience preferred. Software proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) is preferred. Individual salaries offered are determined by qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. Location noted: Nashville, TN.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program (Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Communications, or Law)
- Leadership experience, preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and basic research skills
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and work in deadline-driven environment
- Ability to interact professionally with people at all organizational levels
- Demonstrate interest in self-study to further develop technical competency
- Ability to understand why a task is performed and to seek learning opportunities
