Job Summary
Tax & Insurance (T&I) Specialist supports accurate monitoring, payment, reconciliation, and compliance of real estate taxes and insurance for the loan portfolio. Works with internal servicing teams and third-party vendors to mitigate risk, ensure data accuracy, resolve tax delinquencies and insurance gaps (including force-placed insurance), and provide regular reporting and audit support. Responsibilities include tax administration (monitoring obligations, reviewing tax bills, reconciling vendor data, and post-closing tax setup), insurance administration (ensuring borrower coverage, reviewing policies, coordinating with tracking vendors, and supporting force-placed processes), vendor coordination, exception management, risk control, and cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Legal, and Asset Management. The role is hybrid with in-office presence in Thousand Oaks, CA on Tuesday–Thursday and optional remote Monday/Friday. Requires 3+ years of relevant experience and strong communication, detail-orientation, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience in loan servicing, tax, insurance, escrow administration, or a related mortgage servicing function
- Working knowledge of property tax processes and jurisdictions
- Insurance policy requirements for real estate loans
- Experience coordinating with third-party tax and insurance vendors
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and exception-driven problem solving
- Ability to manage high volumes of work and competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment
