Job Summary
Tax Expert – Retail On-Site at a TurboTax location, seasonal, strives to grow TurboTax’s client base by delivering full-service tax preparation and advisory services in-person and virtually. Engage with the community, lead local events, and build long-term relationships while leveraging TurboTax marketing support and software. Responsible for providing tax expertise, conducting discovery sessions, and delivering personalized tax solutions to diverse clients, including personal and business income, deductions optimization, and planning. Requires active credentials (EA, CPA, or practicing attorney) with PTIN, at least 3 years of experience preparing 1040s, familiarity with Circular 230, US residency, and flexibility to work 25–34 hours weekly including afternoons/evenings/weekends; bilingual skills a plus; proficiency with tax software and CRM tools; entrepreneurial mindset to grow local and online presence in the community.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted credential: EA, CPA, or Practicing Attorney with strong tax preparation experience and active PTIN
- Active PTIN as required by law to file taxes
- Minimum of 3 years of paid experience filing 50+ federal/state individual 1040 tax returns per tax season using professional tax preparation software
- Familiarity with Circular 230
- Must reside within the United States
- Must possess or be able to obtain any related State licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds
- Active availability for a flexible 25–34 hour weekly schedule, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends, with ability to increase hours during peak seasons
- Experience in building local/community presence and engaging with local events/marketing campaigns
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Experience in holistic tax advisory services beyond tax filing
- Proficient with technology, including tax preparation software and CRM/sales tools
- Entrepreneurial and self-driven with business ownership mindset to grow customer portfolio
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment independently while managing multiple priorities
