Job Summary
Conduct full-service tax return preparation and provide expert advice for personal and business clients, handling everything from W-2 filings to complex amendments and deductions. Facilitate discovery sessions to uncover tax liabilities and maximize refunds, then collaborate with specialists on bookkeeping, payroll, and financial planning to deliver a seamless end-to-end experience. Act as a proactive community ambassador by identifying prospects, organizing local events like financial literacy workshops, and driving new client acquisition to grow the local TurboTax base. Build long-term trust with customers through empathetic, personalized interactions that turn one-time transactions into multi-year relationships.
Required Qualifications
- EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or Practicing Attorney with strong tax preparation experience and extensive knowledge of tax laws
- Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- Minimum of 3 years of paid experience filing 30 or more federal and state individual 1040 tax returns per tax season using professional tax preparation software
- Familiarity with Circular 230
- Willingness to upskill into additional service types or more complex work areas (e.g., bookkeeping, payroll, business tax advisory) with training provided by Intuit
- Comfort working onsite at a TurboTax office location, primarily between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM local time, Monday through Friday, for a minimum of 20 hours per week
- Willingness to complete all required training and development as determined by the business including compliance training, proficiency-based up-skilling, cross-training of other products or offerings, and professional development
- Willingness to wear Intuit provided uniforms
- Willingness to use your name, picture for advertising on goggle
- Interest in building a local and online social presence as a TurboTax Expert, creating accessible tax-related content and resources for your community in accordance with Intuit's policies
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills
- Experience in holistic tax advisory services beyond tax filing
- Passion for empowering customers and helping them overcome the complexities of taxation
- Passion for your local community and excitement to work with Intuit to engage with and build Intuit's presence in your local community (e.g., speaking at events, building a local and online social presence, creating content such as tax tips and educational videos)
- Entrepreneurial and self-driven mindset with a business ownership mindset to grow your customer portfolio
- Exceptional customer service skills, high empathy, and a friendly, professional demeanor
- Excitement to be showcased as a TurboTax - Local Service Expert in local and national marketing efforts
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently while managing multiple priorities
- Proficiency with technology, including tax preparation software and CRM/sales tools
- Residence within the United States
- Possession or ability to obtain any related State licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds
