Tax Experienced Manager, Alternative Investments

Job Summary
Ensure client compliance with applicable authorities while minimizing tax burdens, preparing required filings and managing billing, collections, and project budgets. Lead complex engagements with a team of tax professionals, supervising Tax Seniors and Associates to deliver high-quality federal, state, and international tax compliance services. Assist in identifying and implementing efficient tax strategies for Venture Capital, Private Equity, Hedge Fund, and Real Estate clients, maintaining strong client relationships and acting as the primary contact for issue resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Six (6) or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience
- Prior supervisory experience
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent ("EA") (or the equivalent of one of these designations)
Desired Qualifications
- Major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics
- Master's in Accountancy or Taxation
- Financial Services industry experience supporting Alternative Investment funds including: Venture Capital, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Hedge Funds
- Proficiency in the taxation of partnerships
- Industry expertise in one or more tax specialty
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role
- CFP or Masters in Tax
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with tax research databases
- Proficient in tax compliance process software
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively delegate work as needed
- Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills as well as decision-making skills
- Capacity to work well in a team environment
- Capable of developing and managing a team of tax professionals
- Ability to compose written tax advice
- Capable of effectively developing and maintaining client relationships
- Executive presence and ability to act as primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues and resolutions to clients
