Job Summary
Tax Domain Expert collaborates with Product and Engineering to shape Marble's AI-powered tax platform, translating practitioner needs into product requirements, reviewing AI outputs for technical correctness and usability, and designing evaluation frameworks to ensure accurate, reliable tax intelligence. This role leverages deep tax expertise to influence platform reasoning, research, and guidance, working closely with cross-functional teams to align product with real-world tax practice and evolving regulations. Bonus points for experience with tax content creation and tax-technology tools. Remote-friendly with a Toronto, ON, Canada location.
Required Qualifications
- Credentialed tax professional: CPA, Tax Attorney (JD/LLM), or Enrolled Agent
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting, law, or complex tax advisory roles
- Deep technical knowledge in one or more areas: individual, business, partnership, SALT, international, or procedural tax
- Hands-on experience using multiple tax compliance and/or research platforms (e.g., ProSystem fx, UltraTax, Lacerte, Drake, CCH Axcess, GoSystem, etc.)
- Able to explain complex tax concepts clearly and precisely
- Comfortable giving direct feedback and collaborating across disciplines
- Motivated by impact and scale rather than billable hours
- Bonus Points: Experience writing technical tax content or internal firm guidance
- Exposure to tax research platforms or tax technology tools
- Interest in AI, data, or knowledge systems — no engineering background required
- Curious about technology and excited by shaping AI-powered tools
