Job Summary
Tax Director, Transaction Advisory Services (TAS Tax) leads technical tax work for mergers and acquisitions, serves as primary client contact, reviews work by Associates/Managers, contributes to marketing and business development, and oversees tax analyses including Section 338 elections, Section 1202, NOL/E&P considerations, and transaction costs. Responsible for supervising and mentoring staff, preparing and reviewing tax analyses and memoranda, and delivering client-focused tax consulting and strategy within the TAS Tax practice.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics required; JD/LLM with focus on tax preferred; Master’s in Accounting or Tax preferred
- Nine+ years of relevant tax experience in areas including Section 382, consolidated return regulations, Section 1202, and post-transaction structuring
- CPA certification or Attorney admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction or EA, or equivalent
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead and mentor staff; client relationship management
- Experience drafting tax memoranda and opinions; knowledge of tax research databases (Checkpoint, Bloomberg, CCH Intelliconnect) preferred
