Job Summary
Oversee outsourced tax compliance, including scope, timelines, deliverables, and issue escalation, while applying an exception-based review approach focused on material transactions and significant tax positions. Advise Investments, Legal, Finance, and executive leadership on tax considerations for acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and fund formations, evaluating external advisor recommendations and translating implications for business decisions. Lead tax planning and forecasting for the parent company and owners, incorporating tax factors into budgeting and capital allocation strategies. Coordinate transaction structuring, due diligence, and entity support for REITs and joint ventures, while monitoring tax developments and overseeing advisor performance, cost-effectiveness, and risk management.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of tax experience in real estate, private equity, asset management, public accounting, law, or a combination thereof
- Strong knowledge of partnership taxation, real estate funds, REITs, joint ventures, and investment structures
- Experience managing external advisors and complex transaction processes
- Strong commercial judgment and project management skills
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex tax issues into practical business advice
- Effective collaborator who thrives in a cross-functional, advisor-led environment
