Job Summary
Gen II is seeking a Tax Director with extensive experience in tax compliance services, specifically in the private equity sector. The ideal candidate will manage multiple client engagements, oversee the preparation and validation of tax forms, and finalize federal and state tax returns. Key responsibilities include coaching and directing a team of tax professionals, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and collaborating with clients and auditors. Candidates must have a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting and significant supervisory experience, alongside strong analytical and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting (150 credit-hours minimum)
- 8+ years of experience in tax-related roles
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Understanding of U.S. partnership taxation
- CPA certification or equivalent with active PTIN
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to thrive independently and as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree such as Masters in Taxation, JD, and/or LLM
- Understanding of U.S. international taxation rules associated with ECI, Branch Profits Tax, FDAP, FATCA and FIRPTA
- Understanding of U.S. corporate taxation
- Private equity work experience
- Tax work experience with an emphasis in partnership and/or international tax matters
- Proficiency with Thomson Reuters GoSystem
