Job Summary
As an Assistant Manager in BDO UK’s Tax Accounting Group, you will work on a portfolio of high-profile tax audits and non-audit tax reporting, including preparing tax consolidations and tax accounting for GAAP conversions, carve-out and acquisition accounting. You’ll collaborate with senior professionals across client engagements, build and maintain relationships with primary audit teams, and develop project management skills to ensure timely deliverables. The role involves coaching and mentoring junior staff, liaising with clients directly, and contributing to the delivery of tax services across a range of sectors. You’ll be exposed to audits for FTSE/AIM-listed groups and private equity-backed businesses, with opportunities for on-the-job coaching and career development. The position emphasizes agile working, collaboration, and leveraging the firm’s resources to support client needs. Located in the UK (BDO operates across 17 locations) with a focus on delivering high-quality service and driving value for entrepreneurial clients.
Required Qualifications
- ACA and/or CTA qualified (or equivalent)
- Minimum of three years audit and/or tax experience with a Big Four or mid-tier firm
- Experience coaching more junior staff
- Experience dealing with clients directly
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Project management skills
- Comfortable working with senior managers, directors, and partners
- Experience in tax accounting and tax reporting including GAAP conversions, consolidations, and acquisitions accounting
