Job Summary
Prepare and support state and local tax filings for designated business units, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. Analyze and interpret tax laws, conduct research, and summarize findings for leadership. Support tax audits and inquiries by gathering documentation and coordinating responses. Analyze financial data to identify tax efficiencies, assist with forecasting, and maintain accurate records. Leverage tax systems and ERP tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes. Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate reporting and generate routine and ad hoc analyses. This role evolves manual processing into a systems-driven, analytical function emphasizing continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration within Great American's insurance operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- 1-3 years of relevant tax, accounting, or finance experience
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations with experience leveraging tax software, financial systems, and ERP platforms
