Job Summary
Review client tax situations, identify opportunities, and provide personalized recommendations to ensure return accuracy and IRS compliance. Present complex concepts in straightforward language while delivering forward-looking advice on financial goals and relevant product services. Validate every filing against regulations, support tax notices, and address audit inquiries. Maintain current knowledge of evolving tax laws and leverage internal tools to strengthen expertise season over season. Build lasting client relationships through empathy and consistent follow-through to drive loyalty and repeat business.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including individual and small business returns
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language
- Ability to collaborate within a team environment to deliver a seamless client experience
- Must complete continuing education and meet all IRS and applicable state requirements
- High school diploma / GED / equivalent required
Desired Qualifications
- CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or other IRS Circular 230 credential
- 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, or financial services, including complex returns, tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Experience in a consultative or advisory client relationship role (financial advising, insurance, or professional services)
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT)
- Familiarity with tax preparation software such as GoSystem or UltraTax
