Job Summary
Review each client's tax situation, identify opportunities, and provide personalized recommendations while ensuring return accuracy and compliance with IRS regulations. Present complex concepts in straightforward language to build trust, then deliver forward-looking advice on financial goals and relevant product services. Maintain current knowledge of evolving tax laws and leverage internal tools to validate filings and support audit inquiries. Complete the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment and pursue ongoing education to strengthen expertise season over season. This seasonal, in-person role offers competitive hourly pay and incentives within a team environment focused on continuous learning and client loyalty.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including individual and small business returns
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language
- Ability to collaborate within a team environment to deliver a seamless client experience
- Must complete continuing education and meet all IRS and applicable state requirements
- High school diploma / GED / equivalent required
Desired Qualifications
- CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or other IRS Circular 230 credential
- 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, or financial services, including complex returns, tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Experience in a consultative or advisory client relationship role (financial advising, insurance, or professional services)
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT)
- Familiarity with tax preparation software such as GoSystem or UltraTax
