Job Summary
Lead personal and corporate tax compliance assignments, managing computations, estimates, and filings under tight deadlines while resolving complex tax matters and delivering tailored solutions to clients. Supervise accounting and bookkeeping workflows to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of financial records, directly mentoring junior associates and providing continuous technical guidance. Review working papers to ensure absolute compliance with internal firm standards and professional regulations, representing clients and the firm in communications with Malaysian tax authorities. Identify operational gaps to recommend actionable improvements and support the adoption of modern accounting tools and workflow enhancements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Malaysian corporate tax laws and collaborate closely with the broader team to provide seamless accounting, tax, and consulting services.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting from a recognised university
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in tax and/or accounting industry
- Proven track record of effectively managing accounts and tax engagements
- Strong technical ability in Malaysian tax and accounting standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to manage client relationships effectively
- Ability to work independently and also as a strong team player
- Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Proficient in tax software (e.g. Superior Tax Comp)
Desired Qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, CTIM, ACCA)
- Experience in outsourced accounting, tax practice, or professional services firm
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin
