Job Summary
Monitor tax policy adherence and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual filings for income, gross receipts, property, and sales/use tax compliance. Reconcile general ledger accounts, validate tax data, and investigate variances while communicating with authorities on property tax matters. Assist with federal, state, and local audits by gathering requested data and visit plant facilities to support property tax assessments and appraiser tours. Identify process improvements and maintain technical tax knowledge through ongoing development.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
- 1-2 years of accounting experience
Desired Qualifications
- Tax experience, internship experience or exposure to federal, state, local, sales/use, property or income tax matters
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions and data analysis tools
- Demonstrates collaboration and consideration of the impact of decisions on others; works effectively across functional areas and supports broader organizational goals
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with internal and external stakeholders
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and a demonstrated ability to learn and apply tax laws, regulations and reporting requirements; actively pursues professional development opportunities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
