Job Summary
Target Security Specialist responsible for assets protection and safety at the store. Responsibilities include crisis response, crowd management, de-escalation, use of Target's video surveillance system, documenting cases in the case management system, performing merchandise receipt checks, preventing theft, and supporting store team members to deliver an easy, inspiring guest experience. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, being at least 18, and willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of security procedures, de-escalation tactics, and ability to operate surveillance technology and report incidents is expected; role emphasizes teamwork, ethical conduct, safety compliance, and customer service.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
- Effective communication skills
- Work both independently and with a team
- Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
- Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)
- Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds in some cases
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to drive or move merchandise as needed
