Job Summary
Target Security Specialist role responsible for protecting guests, team members, and the store by utilizing intelligence-led practices, responding to incidents, preventing theft, and conducting merchandise recoveries. Responsibilities include engaging guests and staff, maintaining safe and secure store standards, documenting security incidents, utilizing video surveillance, training team members on merchandise protection, executing shortage action plans, and upholding safety and compliance. Required skills include de-escalation, crisis response, incident documentation, video system operation, and strong communication, with the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and lift up to 40 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Meet state/local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- Learn and adapt to current technology needs
- Effective communication skills
- Work both independently and with a team
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
- Climb up and down ladders
- Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy
- Scan, handle and move merchandise safely, up to 40 pounds
- Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) and regular attendance
