Job Summary
Target Security Specialist responsible for protecting people and assets, utilizing intelligence-led tactics, crisis response, crowd management, de-escalation, and effective use of Target's video surveillance system. Duties include documenting security incidents in case management systems, conducting merchandise theft recoveries, preventing loss at the front of store, supporting peers, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests and team members. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, at least 18 years old, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, flexible scheduling, and the ability to operate handheld scanners and related equipment. The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, safety, compliance, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced retail environment.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to climb ladders and perform physically demanding tasks (e.g., lifting up to 40 pounds)
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, ethics, and compliance with policies and procedures
