Job Summary

The Taproom & Events Manager for Port Jefferson is responsible for the day-to-day operations, programming, and guest experience of Montauk Brewing Company’s new Port Jefferson taproom. Owns the full P&L of the site, builds the local activation calendar, and serves as the on-the-ground brand ambassador for Montauk in the Port Jefferson market. Develop and execute the local events calendar (live music, brand collaborations, beer releases, charity nights, seasonal programming), manage a rotation of local food truck/vendor partnerships, plan private event rentals, and coordinate with cross-functional teams on marketing, product and brand initiatives. Lead staffing, scheduling, inventory, and POS management; hire/train a small hourly team; uphold service standards and brand guidelines. Ensure compliance with NY State microbrewery license terms, health and safety codes, and local permitting. Build community partnerships, drive traffic and dwell time in a beverage-only venue, and manage marketing voice in-market with digital teams. Oversee revenue forecasting, COGS, labor and events budgets, and monthly reporting; conduct post-event evaluations and quarterly business reviews. Maintain the physical site aesthetics and equipment, ensuring alignment with Montauk’s coastal brand. Skills needed include strong hospitality and team leadership, operational discipline, regulatory experience (TTB, NYSLA, health departments, permitting), budgeting and P&L management, and proficiency with MS Office and POS systems. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, and 5+ years of management experience in hospitality is required; ServSafe/TIPS certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days is expected. Evening, weekend, and holiday work are required, with local travel between Port Jefferson, Patchogue, and Montauk locations.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of taproom, bar, restaurant, or hospitality management experience; opening a new location strongly preferred
  • TIPS / ServSafe Alcohol certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Familiarity with NY State microbrewery license requirements strongly preferred
